My childhood wasn’t anything to brag about, I grew up with a mother
who got addicted to drugs when I was the age of 7, I never had a stable
home, couldn’t keep friends because I may not see again. My mother
was verbally, mentally, and physically abusive. I remembered staying in
drug houses and pooping on paper, urinating in cut off milk jugs, biting
into chicken with maggots, no running water, gas, or lights. As time
went on, I met my children father who initially was a good guy I
thought. He invited me to church, his family was filled with evangelists,
missionaries, pastors, elders, prophets, singers, etc…. I really thought
this was my way away from the abuse. Until one day he cut my clothes
off me and began punching me in the face repeatedly in front of his
family, in which by the way never said anything. I remembered I faked
like I passed out to get him to stop. That day was the beginning of years
of abuse which included hospital stays, incarceration, many days at the
altar and it took a threat to take my children for me to pack up and
leave.
