Depression can be defeated!

We often find ourselves at some point in our lives in a state of depression! There are many reasons for this unkind emotion. The loss of a love one,getting fired, a divorce,retiring,moving to a new place, wayward children, illness .. the list can go on and on. These life events tend to beoverwhelming! If they are not dealt with properly we could find ourselves in a state of depression. We begin to isolate ourselves from people we love, we may comfort eat, or not eat at all .We become fatigued,loneliness sets in.Sometimes sleeping becomes our companion. We start caring less and less about our appearance and personal hygiene.Unfortunately when we allow theses types of behavior to continue without seeking help depression can lead to suicidal thoughts our even the act itself.We can defeat this type of behavior in several ways. First remembering and believing who God says we are. The word says in Psalms 139 verse14: I praise you. For I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Romans 8 verse 37 says No. In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loves us. If we meditate and believe on just these verses we know that we can beat depression. Other ways to defeat it is to get up and out into Gods land and breathe his air.1. Exercise. Get the body doing something fun.2. Drink plenty of water/ hydrate3. Eat healthy. The old saying “ an apple a day keeps the doctor away “ may have a bit of truth in it.4. Get a massage5. Take a yoga classThese are just a few suggestions. It is always in order to seek medical help . Talk to your doctor ; you may need medication or Therapy. Whatever the solution is; just know you are not alone. Depression Can be Defeated. Let’s be diligent in taking care of ourselves. This is just food for thought.OYP,Blessings
